NCC Emergency First Aid for Transport

To work on Passenger Transport Contracts awarded by Norfolk County Council, Drivers and Passenger Assistants must hold a current identity badge issued by the Council. A badge will only be issued to applicants who work for an operator who has been accepted onto the DPS and who have passed an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and a Safeguarding Children and Vulnerable Adults course. Queries regarding badges should be made by companies only, not individual staff members. Please email all correspondence to ttsdisclosures@norfolk.gov.uk.

In addition to completing the online safeguarding course, Drivers and Passenger Assistants may need to undertake additional training to be able to work on contracts. The Council does not provide or pay for additional training.

First aid is one of those required additional training, this course has been approved and accepted by NCC to meet this requirement. The EFAW and FAW certificate is also accepted.

This course requires close contact with other delegates and first aid manikins and contains videos and images of injuries appropriate to the subject. Appropriate clothing must be worn.
Candidates need a basic command of English. While we are often able to provide support to people who do not have English as a first language, our ability to do so is limited by the time available and the number of people who require assistance. We may be able to make special arrangements if requested in advance. (This may be in the form of decreasing the class size or increasing the course length etc.) Please contact us if you need any support or guidance at least 7 days before the course.
