Course day.

Registration and refreshments will begin from 0850hrs
Each day will consist of the required 6 contact hours. Start Time 0900hrs end time 1600hrs. This will allow for 1 hour to be split throughout the day for Lunch, breaks and refreshments. Each course is classroom based with some practical work which may be outside.

Training materials

Training material will be provided during the course, it is suggested that you bring a notebook and pen.

Food, Refreshments.

Light refreshments of tea & coffee etc. will be provided at suitable periods throughout the day. Lunch is not provided. Packed lunches can be consumed in the rest area.

Disabilities, complaints, diversity and H&S

All information will be explained by the trainer at the opening welcome but it is reminded that First aiders should be physically able to demonstrate their competencies, all learning outcomes must be achieved to successfully gain the qualification. Individuals must inform VTS of any disabilities or protected characteristic requiring reasonable adjustments prior to any training conducted.
Candidates should wear Suitable clothing for first aid practicals.

Data Protection

Certain information is needed at the start of the course as you are registering on a course for the purpose of the health & Safety ( First aid ) Regulations 1981, Ofstead or other legal or professional requirement. Identification may be required.
VTS need to be absolute certain as a training provider that the candidate is who they say they are and would be able without any doubt provide support to the candidate regarding the training they received in any legal challenge over their qualifying period. All data is retained in accordance with the data protection act and other than the optional first aid updates and renewal notification with the accrediting body no information is passed to a third party.
HSE Strongly recommend that first aiders undertake annual refresher training.
